CASE

Callant

In 2023, Business Markers supported Callant in translating its growth ambition into a clear strategic plan and an organization-wide execution model. The assignment focused on defining customer segmentation, setting strategic priorities, and embedding execution through ownership, KPIs, and a structured governance rhythm. This resulted in stronger alignment, clearer priorities, and a strategy that is actively driven across the organization.

Callant, a Belgian insurance broker and financial advisor, had clear growth ambitions: to become the reference in financial advice and risk management in Flanders, both through organic growth and acquisitions. While the organization had strong client relationships, experienced advisors, and commercial drive, a shared strategic direction was missing.

The challenge was not ambition, but making explicit choices. Which clients to prioritize, where to grow, how to organize around what matters most, and how to ensure alignment across the organization. Without that clarity, efforts remained fragmented and growth potential underutilized.

In 2023, Business Markers supported Callant in translating its ambition into a clear strategy and an organization-wide execution model.

Starting from an OGSM framework, we guided the leadership team in defining a concrete strategic direction, with a strong focus on customer segmentation. Together, we identified priority segments, including high-value clients, and built the commercial approach around nurturing and growing these relationships, while ensuring efficiency for lower-value segments.

Strategy was translated into action through a set of twelve prioritized projects, each linked to one of four strategic axes: customer, operations, financial performance, and people. Every project was assigned clear ownership, with dedicated teams responsible for execution.

What made the difference was the governance model that ensured the strategy remained active. A structured rhythm of Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews was introduced, engaging the top 25 of the organization. Monthly sessions focused on execution, progress, and removing blockers, while quarterly reviews created space for strategic reflection, alignment, and course correction.

This cadence transformed the role of leadership. The top 25 became active carriers of the strategy, ensuring that strategic choices were consistently translated into decisions and behaviors across teams. Strategy evolved from a static plan into a shared and ongoing discipline embedded in the organization.

Today, Callant operates with a clear strategic direction, a prioritized action agenda, and a governance model that connects ambition to execution. Teams are aligned, ownership is defined, and the organization has strengthened its ability to turn strategy into consistent, measurable progress.

This case illustrates how Business Markers supports organizations in moving from strategic intent to embedded execution, by making choices explicit, aligning teams, and building the governance needed to sustain momentum.
