S.P.I.C.E

S.P.I.C.E

S.P.I.C.E is the simplest, most effective means for defining and documenting project roles and responsibilities. S.P.I.C.E. describes the various roles and participants to execute projects successfully. S.P.I.C.E. is an acronym derived from the 5 key responsibilities: Sponsor, Project leader, Influencers, Contributors and Executors.

The 5 roles are used to clarify and define roles and responsibilities in cross-functional or departmental projects and processes. S.P.I.C.E is a fundamental part of the project charter question: “who is involved?”. An extended version of S.P.I.C.E. includes a stakeholder mapping and a contribution-matrix per task. Using the S.P.I.C.E-model will significantly improve your chances of project success.
