SWOT & Implication Matrix

SWOT & Implication Matrix

SWOT & Implication Matrix

The SWOT & implication matrix consists out of 8 squares. It is a strategic planning technique used to identify both strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats as well the key implications. It is intended to specify the strategies and actions of the business, department or project. SWOT is used to assess the internal and external factors which are helpful (favorable) and harmful (unfavorable). Strengths and weakness are inside-related, while opportunities and threats focus on the outside environment. A strong 8-square SWOT follows this process: (1) really think “through” every aspect in your SWOT, (2) score and rank the different elements per block and (3) add implications. This 8-square approach guarantees a smoother process and more meaningful outcome for the strategy formulation, strategic planning, target setting and decision making.
